In December 2006, AT-43 saw its official release with the boxed set Operation Damocles. Created by Rackham, AT-43 is a large scale sci-fi army game. While battles involve lots of figures, every figure comes pre-assembled and pre-painted. Since the game's first release it has gone through a pretty typical life cycle with the release of additional rule books and factions. In 2009, Rackham changed their product line to introduce starter boxed sets for several factions in order to make it easier for new players to pick up the game.
England has Games Workshop, The United States has Privateer Press, and France has Rackham Entertainment. Despite having game lines like Confrontation and AT-43, Rackham has never been successful is competing with Games Workshop. Confrontation has been through four versions and AT-43 is still on its first. Despite retooling the miniature line to be more friendly to non-hobbyists, Rackham has continued to struggle. In 2008, Rackham had financial troubles and late in the year emerged as Rackham Entertainment.
