Privateer Press was founded in 2000 and took on the slogan “Play like you got a pair or put down the metal and go play with something made of plastic”. This slogan for their first miniature game, WARMACHINE, was designed as a playful attack on Games Workshop. All their miniature games, WARMACHINE, Hordes, and Monsterpocaylpse, have all seen excellent success. Ironically since then, the company has looked more like Games Workshop every day. Also included in their product line are several stand alone games including the warjack themed sports game “Grind”. In 2010, changes are coming to their core games with the release of WARMACHINE and Hordes MK II edition. In addition to rule changes, both games will be getting several plastic figure kits.
