Game Overview
Arcane Legions is the new mass action psuedo-collectible miniature game by Wells Expeditions. You can check out the game's official website Here.
This past weekend I stopped by the only remaining local game store and he happened to have an unassembled demo kit for Arcane Legions. I took a few minutes to look through the kit and I took the following pictures with my Pre's camera phone.

Officially, these figures are 25mm scale, but they are not Games Workshop 25mm scale...if that makes any sense. I took a picture of the figures next to a standard size d20 for size comparison. The elite/unique figures come pre-painted while everything is deco-print. Deco-print is a fancy word for unpainted figures with colored shields.
Qualtity-wise, these figures cannot compare with Games Workshop or Privateer Press, but where they lack in quality, they make up for in quantity. All the sets will come with lots of little plastic men. The pre-painted figures look good, but I have seen better paint jobs on some of the now defunct Wizkids games.
Currently the game is set for release Wednesday, October 7th 2009. While I plan on picking up a starter set on release day, Hopefully I can get back to store and play around with the Demo Kit.
One last thing...If you were hoping to find a cheap source for historical war figures, you might want to keep looking. Every figure has a little plug on the bottom. While this plug helps to keep the figures on the base(I hope it does anyway, I have not tried it out yet), it can be annoying for someone who wants to use the figures in a different context.
